Remington 700 question

I am looking at converting my Remington 700 30-06 to a clip or drop plate since it has neither. Do y'all have any recomended conversion kits or where I could find one. Thanks in advance
 
You'll need a new stock, too, and the stock has to be inletted for the bottom metal you intend to use. Some come from the factory ready to go, others are custom.

HS Precision and B&C are both quality factory options, and not outrageously expensive.

They are by far the lowest priced for stocks that I have found. I was wanting to add a thumb hole stock to it any way so I'll just do both. Thanks alot.
 
If you go back to the Boyds website and search you will see that they also sell the magazine and trigger guard to convert your remington from an ADL to a BDL, that way you can order it at the same time you order the stock. I ordered one of there featherweight thumbhole stocks for my rem 700 adl in camo, and really like it, my action fit perfectly, I like it so much that when I get some more mad money, I'm gonna order another for my rem adl 243 win. there a nice stock at a good price.
Just got off Boyds site, and I can't find that trigger guard and magazine anywhere. So please disregard the above message, I do like there stocks, there a good deal.

I'm not really sure why you would need a new stock. It seems like you should be able to cut out the bottom of the old one and fit the new floor plate yourself if you are at all good with carving tools.
 
A new stock is not required, the blind style can be inletted for the floorplate. Easier if the stock is wood, harder if it is synthetic. I have done it myself with an ADL .243, worked out great.
 
Do any of y'all know which limbsaver would fit one of these boyds stocks? I'm thinking of getting one of them for my remmy 700 adl and don't like the looks of the recoil pad they come with.
 
Your best bet is to keep the stock and have a gunsmith inlet it. I really like DBM's as you can use clips, but a floorplate is good too. Williams is my favorite....very high quality.
