Remington 700 PSS...Good deal?

Ok, I was offered a NIB remington 700 PSS with 26" barrel in .308. The price on it is $675. There is no bipod or scope but it is bipod ready. Go or no go? Thanks...

IF it's a BDL style floorplate, it's the going rate for a new one in the DFW area....
An ok buy.
IF it is a detachable magazine model.....RUN, don't walk away...............
I wouldn't buy it for $500.00.........
 
That price seems about right.

I was wondering from Tshoes MDL comments as to what the deal is with a detachable magazine model. I would be interested in hearing what the story is.
 
Remington discontinued the detachable magazine ("DM") model a few years ago due to complaints of poor feeding. That said, I have a DM PSS in .308 that runs like a Rolex. Just like any rifle, some are lemons - mine's a peach!

hit it on the head........HE is a lucky dudeski.

Rem, would NOT admit a problem, and left HUNDREDS(or More), folks holding the bag.........

The DM' models, especially in the PSS series, and LTR's..were hardest hit.

You effectively had a detach mag, and wound up with a single shot.

Exactly the opposite of WHY people bought them.......
 
So long as it isn't the detachable magazine model, I'd buy it if I didn't already have a Rem 700 w/26" match bbl.

BTW, there's a gunsmith who will adapt the DM model to take the M14 mag. I know someone who had it done on his LTR and he loves it. The cost was not cheap though.
 
Thanks guys, Im going to get the FFL tomorrow and putting out a payment. Next I just need to get a scope. Probably a Leupold Vari XII 3-9x40mm...another $225. I wont even have enough money for a cheesburger when this is over. By the way... is this gun legal in Kalifornia? I haven't heard anything yet restricting them... but let us not forget what state this is...I wouldnt be surprised if I got a knock on my door from the friendly neighborhood gov't telling me I have to register it or give it up...

I look for em' to ban #2 pencils there soon........
After all.....they COULD be a deadly weapon......!!!!
 
What really pisses me off is that I cant bring back my AR... I really want to bring it back but ill get it taken away. And my gerber mark II knife is illegal too... cause its a double edged knife. Damnit...now im angry.. frickin kalifornia
