Remington 700 LTR Question

Ok I have a question for all you gunsmiths or pseudo gunsmith. I have a Remington 700 LTR 20" fluted bull barrel. The barrel is threaded 5/8 x 24. I am thinking about getting a muzzle brake on it. What would be the pros and cons on a bolt action .308 with a muzzle brake. I use it for long range plinking and deer hunting. Also what would be the best brake withoout spending $300 for a brake?

Pros: less recoil, reducing flinching and perhaps allowing you to see the impact of your shots (for what that is worth)
Cons: more muzzle blast directed back towards the shooter or perpendicular to the shooter, which might make you somewhat unpopular at a range.

Those are the issues with muzzle brakes. As far as cost, you will find them priced all the way from $60 to %300 at Brownells. Pick one, screw it on, shoot it.

Look at the one I have on my 700 it is great( in my own opinion)
It does increase muzzle blast to the guy next to you.
Less recoil easier to spot shots at longer distances. There is pics of mine in another thread titled finaly done.
I highly recommend running a break
