Remington 700 LH Gentry Mountain Rifle.

This one is in 270 cal and stainless. What are these? Special run by Remington? Custom rifles by a guy named Gentry?

The interwebs are kind of quiet about it.
 
Might be worth an email to www.gentrycustom.com. David Gentry was a nationally-known gunsmith working in Belgrade, MT (outside of Bozeman). He passed a few years ago and his son Dennis took over the business. I doubt that is a Remington product but I could be wrong. Don't know if the "Gentry" designation refers to father or son.
 
I have a left hand Remington with a Gentry three position safety that Dennis installed. I believe they are only making it for Mausers now. They do produce a line of fine custom rifles.
 
I have one on Rem 700 RH action and all the action work was done by local gunsmith when new barrel for 35 WhelenAI. On Rem action you have cut out on action for Rem safety same with stock. You have pretty good gap old safety and stock so something to think about.
