Remington 700 ADL Synthetic or Wood?

I am considering a new Remington 700 ADL in .30-06 and am wondering what some of you more experienced shooters think. Is there any difference, pros/cons in the wood stock and the synthetic stock other than looks and price? What would you choose between the two?

Thanks

Wood has the looks but synthetic or fiberglass has the performance. Synthetic won't warp with the weather so it will keep better accuracy for the most part. Also it's a little tougher if it gets banged around. I know there are some accurate wood stocked rifles but why take the chance. The synthetic will probably serve you better unless you really like the looks of wood.

If you are buying it to put over your fireplace, or to show off to friends, then get wood. If you are taking it hunting in inclement weather, get synthetic.

Another vote for synthetic, for all the reasons given: lightweight, resists warping, resilient, waterproof. Plus, as an added bonus, you get the evil black look that will scare friends and neighbors.

You're obviously buying the gun to hunt (if you were target shooting, you'd be going after the more expensive 700s), so synthetic is the way to go.

Synthetic.

Also, if you're gonna glass bed the gun, it'll last longer on the syntetic than on wood.

Just picked up a wal mart special ADL in synthetic for $375.00. They had .243, .270, .30-06. I played with the one on display which was the new one with the key-lock. Asked for a new one in the box as the display had a bunch of scratches on it. Brought out an old one that did not have the key-lock and came with scope mounts and cheap-o sling. Anyways, not a bad deal for $375.00. Wood was $425.00.
