remington 700 7mm mag

I have a REMINGTON 7MM MAG,and a SIMMONS WHITETAIL CLASSIC 3.5X10X50 SCOPE.My problem is every mount i have tried,the front part of the scope hits the barrel! Any suggestions,or is gunsmithing my last resort? READY 2 HUNT, COUNTRYBOY

Country Boy, any high and most medium height rings should remedy the problem. Most medium are for 40-50mm objectives while high rings will normally accept 50-60mm. See-thru rings would also accomodate your scope. George
