Remington 700 30.06

Tom B,

I bought a 30/06 700 ADL a few months ago, got to shoot it for the first time not long ago. It was indoors, so I had no problems with wind or weather.

The rifle I bought had the synthetic stock.

Using a Varix II Leupold, the first shot was on the paper, about four inches low. Within five shots, it was shooting a nice group in the bullseye area, but covering mainly a two inch area. I feel that once I get used to it and find the right load (I was shooting 150 gr M1 Garand loads) it will be an excellent shooter.

I've got the "Classic", bought when they first came out. With the right handloads, mine will keep 5 shots at an inch or slightly less. The only problem I've had came when I removed the gun from the stock. It took quite a while to "settle" in again! I'm sold on the 700! Everything fits me perfectly.
