Remington 700 .222 Magnum---Help---

I have a Remington 700 adl carbine in the .222 Magnum cal. and with the
bolt fully to the rear looking down in the internal box magazine there's
supposed to be a small ( maybe 1/2 x 1/2 inch ) square metal piece that
fits in behind the polished metal follower and spring to take up the slack
and keep the follower positioned to the front of the box magazine.
Somehow it's been misplaced for a long time and wont feed smoothly
at all. The shell wants to feed right into the inside of the chamber edge
and not the chamber.
Anybody know where I can get another one ?

Thanks Very Much

I'm not sure which piece you are referring to. I looked on my 700 and the above schematic, anyway here is a place to get whatever part you might need.

Rem. 700 Schematic---

Thanks Nate for the schematic. The part isn't pictured there. It goes
right at the rear of part # 33.
My Rem. 700 adl .30-06 doesn't have that part because the follower-
part # 33 is longer and doesn't need it to take up the space as the shorter
,222 Magnum follower does.

Brownell's has a better shipping deal for small, light parts. Be sure you check the "trade discount" price @ Brownell's, and not the retail price. It's really simple to qualify online for a Brownell's trade discount account.
