I recently picked up a remington police 700P LTR 308 and it was not marked with having the x mark pro trigger (it is a 2011 built gun). I called remington and they told me based on the serial number that this gun has the 40X LE trigger, which from what I can tell, is a good thing (more expensive unit).
However, I want to know if the 40X has the same design as the older 700 trigger. I have experienced the "remington moment" and had a gun go off when I took the safety off (and no, I was not touching the trigger and I had not fooled with it either ). I have swore off remington, but because the x mark trigger was an updated design that eliminated the problem, I was willing to go this route on the rifle. Anyway, I want to know if the 40X has the same "connector" and associated issues as the old remington triggers. I tried calling remington, but the two different people I talked to were less than helpful.
