Remington 40-X to the factory.

I'm going to send this 40_X back to the factory for a bolt, and to have the action re-blued. Will they have a problem with the after market barrel, and trigger? I think it's a Timney trigger, and it's very light of pull. I'm worried that they will deem this trigger un-safe, and replace it with a factory job. Any thoughts?

Ruger77, I'd talk to them first. They may have some kind of policy regarding that as well as the rifle being rebarreled. They may not touch it at all. Why are you replacing the bolt? George

When I talked to Remington they said that they need the entire rifle, so they can test fire it.

George,

I am replacing the bolt, because the original is MIA. The rifle belonged to a friend of my father's whom recently died. My father had the stock, and trigger for years, and he thought the barreled action was at a gun shop. The barreled action minus the bolt turned up when the family of the deceased had a yard sale.

This was the original owner's money gun, and I would like to put it back in service as a kind of memorial. He taught me some valuable lessons about marksmanship, and life in general.

Thanks for the replies.

FWIW, I have never heard of a factory removing after-market parts of any kind in doing a repair unless the parts were causing the problem. Then they return them.

Jim
