I bought a 30-06 last week, nice wood stock, looked like it was in really good shape. I paid $395 for it, did I get ripped off???

IT seems to shoot really well, it groups nicely at 100 yards, but, still, the more I look around, $395 seems high.

QUIT LOOKING!!! Something must have caught your eye when you bought it.That's why there are so many divorce's nowdays...Learn to like it,and give it a chance.Shine her up,instead of "stacking her up against others"

Stop lookin'.....

Bob -

My darling wife of 38 years drives me crazy with this same question and I love her dearly, but......

It doesn't make any difference what you buy or how much you pay for it (barring a total rip-off), you will always find it newer, cheaper, better condition, more accessories, prettier, or something - than the one you got. Unless you can go back and get a refund, once you've got it, you've got it. Enjoy it. Quit worrying about what someone else somewhere else MAY be able to get it for. Next time, research FIRST, THEN buy. Otherwise, shoot the heck out of it and at least pretend you love it. ;)

I'd gladly pay fifty bucks more for one with the steel dust cover over the plastic. The older ones seem to feel and sound better when cycling the action to me. Fine rifles with the speed of an auto and accuracy to match most bolts of the same price. beertucker-x

I always get a kick out of guys asking, "....did I get ripped off???" or, ".... did I get a good deal" AFTER they bought something. It's too late, Bob. Just enjoy it for whatever reason you bought it.

I wouldn't worry as the others have stated. That is a great rifle and it is worth that much, regardless of whether or not you have to pay that much. Enjoy it.
