Remington 1100

I have been offered a virtually unused 1100 for $200. There has been one box of shells through the gun. I am mostly a handgun/revolver and rifle kind of guy and don't know if this is a decent deal or should pass. Is the 1100 a decent shotgun? Any input would be appreciated.

Thank You

Grab it - Depending on age and what type of barrel it has, you could re-sell it for at least $300 in that condition.:) Many swear by the 1100. I know that at least 3 million of the model have been sold. Keep it clean, and it will last years. It is also very easy to maintain and to fix if a part does break.

Buy that one! I've had an 1100 in 12ga for over 20 years. It has never failed to fire. I have used it on quail, dove, chukar, hungarian partridge, pheasant, ducks, geese and the occasional crow.

what a sweet deal.
Buy it, clean it, and hang on to it. You never know when a buddy or co-worker will ask you to go skeet shooting or dove hunting and when they do, you will have a nice gun to use.

Just take it apart and clean it every time you shoot it and it will treat you well.

Rem 1100

I've shot, I don't know, anywhere from 30,000 to 50,000 rounds from my 1100 trap. No problems. keep it clean!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Guys, I did buy the 1100 and picked it up this past Friday. It has a 28 in full choke barrel without the Vent Rib, looks like new and came with the box . It also came in a really nice Boyt padded case, so I feel like I really got a deal.

Does anyone know if there is a website where I can check serial #'s to see when it was made? Also I was thinking it would be nice to pick up a rifled dear barrel with the cantilever rail. I live in Michigan and thought I might want to Deer Hunt in the future with it. Where is agood place to order one?

Thanks again,

Cabela's, or any of the catalogue outfits have plenty of options for your 1100.

I bought a 26" Remington replacement barrel with chokes for mine. I like the shorter barrel- it is quicker to point on quail and chukars. I put in the Improved Cylinder choke and haven't changed it since...

Great buy. I love my 1100.

Great Advice.

I think the short slug barrel will cost you almost what you paid for the shotgun. I bought a smooth bore 21" with Rem choke for $165 at midwayusa.com. I keep the 28" modified choke barrel, for bird use.
