The shotgun of reference has been discontinued by Remington and thie prices have fallen down to reasonable levels, ($600.00 to $800.00). Thinking of buying one but I'm not sure. Might be a mistake. Any fellow dwelers have expirience with the shotgun? Would you buy a shotgun discontinued after only several years? Was it that horrible?

I just did with a S&W Elite Gold SxS - great gun, only have a few flats of ammo through it so far, but it runs like a champ and comes with a written lifetime warranty from S&W. In the case of my gun, it was well-made and just poorly marketed. Not so sure how well the 105 was made. If you have reason to thin it is a victim of poor marketing but good manufacturing, then you might take the chance and have some fun.

I have one and I love it.

I bought it last fall (before it was discontinued), and it has run very well on the skeet field. It doesn't toss empties off all over creation; it dumps them right at your feet. In probably about a couple thousand rounds, I've only had two failures, both were failures to extract and eject, and I think they were ammo related. It handles quickly, carries well, and shoots softly.

Personally, I think Remington could have really done something with it had they pressed on with the design. Instead, they allowed the initial negative press to color the entire concept and didn't bother trying to market it. There were no sporting variants (it would have been great for trap guys), they could also have developed an adjustable gas system to allow lighter loads (according to the manual, 1 1/8 oz. at 1300fps is what you need to cycle it, but mine has cycled 7/8 oz. loads when it was cool out, so there's more room there than you'd think).

People have complained about the reliability (mine's good). I've seen complaints about takedown (not hard, and stripping the bolt is no harder than an AR-15). I've seen complaints about cost (it is priced alongside other new concept semiautos). I've rarely seen people who talk down the CTi II who have actual extended experience with one.

If I found one on a shelf in that price range, I'd be sorely tempted to pick up another just to ensure I had a spare.

One OZ:

I have been looking at the exact gun. I like it, balances nicely.....pretty...only problem I can see (or feel) is that it has only one trigger.

Sorry about the derail.

W.E. - CDNN had them in 28 and 26 inch barrels, ST or DT and English or POW. Not sure what they have left - they were selling them for 1190.00.

There are similar guns like that - whether or not the Cti fits the bill, I do not know. I like the concept, especially as a LH, and the Beretta UGB25 Excel is nice but expensive, so the Remington might fit the bill
