Remingto 870 top folder

Hello,


Im new to this forum, im about to but a used Remingting 870 from my local pawn shop, really cheap but a good one, and i want to trick it out, im having a hard time finding an old school top folder for it, seems as if choate originally made the type im looking for, its the kind that is made of a sheet metal, and has holes cut into the sides of it, now seems as if the olny ones i can find are synthetic types, am i out of luck on getting as old school one , or am i bound by buying the new and prob better plastic one, cause i really like the metal types, any help on this question would be really fantastic...

I think the stock your thinking of was the original shotgun folding stock that was made by Remington for their Police model shotguns.

It's a steel top folder, with a plastic pistol grip.
These have been discontinued, but there are still plenty around.
You can watch Ebay, or advertise for one on the gun forums "For Sale" areas.

Yup, like Dfariswheel said. There are a gazillion of these things floating around. Some money-worshippers believe they are gold or something but if you are patient you can find one at a reasonable price.
There's not much to them and they should be easy to "restore" so don't rule out rough ones.

FWIW, the real Remington folders hurt like heck on your cheek when you're shooting. You certainly wouldn't want to take a training class with one!

And, you can find them for around $80-100 on ebay if you're a tiny bit patient.
