Remingt 700ML nipple

Couple of questions.I just got a 700ML. As it sits now it is set up for 209 primers. Due to the regulations in the state I live in I'll need to change it back to percussion caps. Is the nipple proprietary to Remington, or may I use any with the proper threads? and, Is it necessary to change out the striker when switching back?

Sadly yes and the last time I looked, there were conversions. Sounds like you bought this one used as they came with the #11 set up and the 209 was or is an after market. You can also use the musket primer in the #11 setup. Go into GunBroker or Ebay and see it you don't turn one up. I saw these about three month ago.

Okay, just got back from GunBroker and they only list the conversion to the 209. Bet you might be able to find some folks that would sell you their #11/musket conversaion or trade you.
