And nobody EVER lies to the cops.
Especially not people distrustful of the cops even when the cops are polite and thorough.
Or actually, or conveniently, forgets information initially that later is recalled or sometimes learns new information since the original visit via things like chatting with the family about the scoundrel BIL.
You seem confused. First you claim to think the cops think you are
responsible for the actions of your BIL because you might know where he is. Somehow you don't get the difference between information and responsibility.
SM, the cops do not think you are responsible for your BIL's actions. What do you expect? You obviously interact with the guy and so you are not only a family member, but a known associate. They think you probably have information and your less than helpful attitude on the first visit probably showed through quite clearly. That isn't the same thing as guilty by association, unless you really are hiding information from the cops.
Doule Naught Spy. I know dang well they did something. The conclusion of my scouting confirms that. Might be a lawsuit if they do damage.
Good luck with your big talk lawsuit. I am sure the polite and thorough cops drove all through your expensive hay field, but you aren't passing judgment in advance are you, given you can't judge distance at night and all? Since you can't judge distance at night, you could not tell if they were in your hayfield or not, but by golly, your 'scouting' confirmed 'something.'
However, I think that shows the crux of what is going on here. You are willing to judge the cops and cast dispersions on their activities without any real information (since you can't judge distance at night, but are going to sue if there is damage) and so you therefore think they must be considering you in the same light with all that "guilt by asssocation" garbage.
Bottom line: The cops have done nothing wrong to you and at each step you have judged them because you don't trust them. You have even now gone as far as to threaten a lawsuit for something you don't even know had happened or not.
