Remanufactured HK 91's?

Has anyone purchased one of these refurbished semi Auto G3 rirfles from Burns Bros. or Century? What is the accuracy /reliability like?

The idea of getting into a big bore battle rifle in .308 for 579-650 dollars sounds like a good one. These rifles contain all pre-ban features on a new U.S. mfg., reciever with an integral weaver base. Any info on tyhese weapons would be appreciated.

I've seen and handled a few of these and they are ugly. The receiver is made by Federal Arms and is a cast aluminium type as opposed to HK's stamped steel construction. The complete rifles are basically suplus military parts installed on the aluminium receiver and refinished with what looks like auto underbody coating or something.

The G3's are garbage...a poor man's H&K. Save your money and get a real H&K or a pre-ban FN-FAL, or even an M1A. The G3's are ugly, haphazardly assembled, and who know's which manufacture you'd have to go to to find replacement parts. If this is a weapon you want to be "battle" ready, then stay away from junk.

Remember what your mother told you about getting what you pay for?

I concur that the aluminum receiver HKs are not a good value for the money. Hesse Arms makes a better receiver and HK now imports receivers. You may want to consider those alternatives before you buy the aluminum one.
