Rem 870 barrel refinishing questions...

I have a used 870 barrel--it's matte, but it doesn't look Parkerized (no texture--just matte black finish). I'd like to refinish it at home (DIY) to match the color/texture of the receiver/magazine tube (Parkerized new model 870 Super Mag w/j-lock).

Looking at Aluma Hyde II, KG Gun Kote, and Baking Laquer (Brownell's).

All input welcomed.

You could do like I do, but.....

You would need a tank big enough to hold a barrel, and a bead blast cabinet.
I had a welding shop at work make me a stainless tub the right size for barrels or barreled actions. Also have access to a glass bead cabinet for a fine matte finish on a steel part. Maybe an auto shop around has one. You can get chemicals to parkerise from Brownells, among others. But you will need to use the "pre-dip blackener" solution first before doing your stove top parkerising. I have a thermometer good up to 250 degrees to check the solution temp. Parkerising is probably safer than blueing, as it is mostly a weak acid in water with dissolved metals. And you just do it around 160-170 degrees water temp. This whole deal will give a nice durable matte black. Otherwise you will have to get a smith to do it. Should be cheaper to do a barrel outsource, than setting up initailly to parkerise, but if you do alot of gun parts it is cheap and easy enough.
