Rem. 799-.22 Hornet Magazine---

Would it be much trouble and would it maybe cause feeding problems to
change that awful angle on the magazine of a Remington 799 in .22 Hornet
to the normal design of a regular magazine ?
I'm sure you would probably lose a couple of rounds capacity to get the
bottom of the magazine leveled up.

Thanks

Hi Jim. :)
I can see you are thinking.

Yes, you can shorten the magazine on the 799 Hornet to make it look more streamlined, but you lose 2 or 3 rounds of mag capacity. Since the Hornet is a rimmed round, it's difficult to get them to sit and feed right in a staggered box magazine, so many makers just avoid the headaches and put in a straight stack magazine even though it ruins the lines of the rifle.
