Rem 788 trigger attachment

Have just purchased a Rem 788, waiting for it to arrive. Per seller one of the tabs/anchors/studs?? that the trigger pins to has come loose. Supposed to be an easy repair. Anyone have any experience with this problem.

I had one years ago I tried to adjust the trigger on. It was a no go. I put a carjar set trigger on it to shoot Sil. matches.

It worked great, except I couldnt use the set part in the winter. My cold fingers couldn't feel that little sub trigger (or what ever you call it). Even then with out using the SET portion it was a pretty dern good trigger.

It could be an easy fix or rather involved. The "tab" the trigger is attached to is part of the receiver. It could be the trigger housing or the trigger itself that needs work. Either way, take it to a good smith.

I second what Scorch said. Take it to a gunsmith. The 788 trigger straddles a loop machined into the receiver and is attached by a single pin that runs through both sides of the trigger housing and the loop.
