What does everyone think on the Remington model 7600 pump rifle? I saw one at Wal-Mart today in .308 Win, and it is a very good looking rifle. It is so nice that I'd like to make it my first high-powered centerfire rifle.

What is the largest game that can be taken with the .308 cartidge? I live in NE Pennsylvania where there are alot of deer and, suppossedly, black bears.

They are good guns. With the proper bullets you can take deer,bear,wild hogs,elk.They will do anything a 30-06 will out to about 250 yards.

They were asking a little more the $500 for it. That's less than the MSRP, but I do not know if it is a good deal.

The more I think about the rifle the more I want it.

They're good guns, especially if you are already a pump shotgun shooter. On most if not all that I have handled (they are extremely popular around here), the fore-end is sorta wobbly, which turns easily into a minor irritant.
Shop around, there's a synth-stocked version that runs for less $$$.
