Rem 700 SPS Tactical .223 Ring Height?

Hi all,

I just ordered a Remington SPS Tactical in .223 for plinking (off sandbags) at 100-200 yards or less. I also have a Simmons Whitetail Classic Rifle Scope
(6.5-20x 50mm Adjustable Objective Mil-Dot Reticle Matte) on the way from MidwayUSA http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productnumber=168462. I'm thinking about using an EGW 1-Piece Picatinny-Style Base http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productnumber=630711 and Burris XTR 1" rings http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productnumber=678586

Does anyone have a similar setup, or knowledge on which Burris XTR ring height would work the best? I'm also open to other mounting options if you know of one that seems reasonable and solid.

I just bought one in .308 with a nikon monarch 4-16x42 an i needed medium and that barely cleared the bolt! hope that helps!

I have the same rifle/scope as 6621 but with Leupold 2 piece base. I had to use Leupold high rings (.90) and the bolt handle is so close that when you open the bolt it will flip up the rear cover if closed. deadeye
