Rem 700 Mountain rifle

I recently gave away my only
30/06 rifle; a Remington 700BDL.
Now, I'm thinking I need to replace it.
Was offered a Remington 700BDL
"Mountain" rifle yesterday for $499.00.
I kind of like the looks of this model but
have read about some problems involving
the detachable magazine.
My question is..is the above price good enough
given the spotty reputation of this model?
Condition is near new.

Remember ordering one of those for a customer about a year ago, and when it came in I almost called the distributor on the spot to see if I could get one for myself. I really, really liked that rifle, and he made good reports back to us about its performance.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
