Rem 700 Long Range or Tactical Long Range?

I am going to buy a Rem 700 in 300 Win Mag. I have narrowed it down to these two and am now trying to warrant the difference in price. The differences I kow of is the 40X trigger vs the X Mark. The barrel coating and fluting. The stock. Don't know if the bolt and receiver are the same or not. I have shot high power competition for years but not with a bolt gun so the smoothness of the bolt is critical. I intend to do work on the gun and probably change the stock. I don't mind paying extra for things I am keeping. I can float and bed a barrel and stock. Does anyone know if the main components, barrel, bolt, receiver are different in these two rifles. Any opinions or does anyone own one of these? Thanks

If smoothness of bolt is critical, take a look at the Tikka T3 Tactical... You won't find a Remington with a bolt as smooth as the Tikka. The Tikka factory trigger is also much better than any Remington factory trigger and is user adjustable.

As far as the Remington's in question, the receiver/action will be the same, but one may be better "refined" than the other. Not sure on your other questions.

Thanks guys. I understand there are better choices. I am retired now and I can get a pretty big discount on the Remington so that drove my manufacturer choice. My concern was if the bolts were polished on the tactical and the whole rifle assembled with different care. The tactical seems to be closer to match rifle specs but if I am going to change out the stock then paying for a floated barrel doesn't make sense. Being that the gun is a special purpose gun then the special coating isn't that important. I like the extra weight so the fluting isn't important because cooling isn't going to be a problem. The crown is simple to change. I am concerned if the quality of the main components is different other than the trigger.

There will be no difference.
Either should do sub MOA right out of the box with good loads
