I want to know if there is any significant accuracy difference between the light barrel of an adl versus a heavy barrel of a pss. I am considering buying an adl and putting it in a H & S stock to free float it. Would this setup give me decent accuracy? The reason I want to try this setup is to have iron sights on the rifle.

Yes. The heavy barrels will shoot tighter groups than the sporter-weight barrels, particularly after a few shots. An ADL should shoot 1", with proper ammo and assuming that the trigger's been adjusted.

In general, the heavy barrel will hold tighter groups for more shots, as it is stiffer and absorbs heat better. Barrel heating stresses the barrel slightly, and will affect its vibration characteristics. It just takes a minimum of any change to make groups open up. However, for a typical hunting rifle it is unimportant--you won't shoot as many shots at one time, plus you don't hunt from a benchrest. (Well, prairie doggers, sometimes.)

With iron sights, the odds are that the rifle will shoot tighter than you can hold it.
