Are the barrel threads of the remington/mohawk 600/660 the same as the remington 700. I hahe a Rem. 600 that I am trying to do an economical rebuild on. New barrels are very exspensive for a rifle that I have no money into so far. So the obvious thought was to use a "take off" barrel from a 700

I know the info is out there somewhere

But it might be easier just to ask Remington.

Gun Parts (Numrich) lists several M700 take off barrels for just under $70-80 depending on caliber. They are currently all out of M600 barrels.

Which 600 do you have? It might be better just to have it rebored (.243 to .308, for example) Model 600s are sweet little rifles, I have several. Not generally tackdrivers they way they came from the factory, but accurate enough for hunting, even varmints at closer ranges.
