J James K Member In Memoriam Jun 28, 2001 #2 I think those were discontinued before '68, so they don't have a serial number. So no way to tell manufacturing date. Most were made before receiver grooving also, so would have to be drilled for a scope base. One of the best .22 rifles ever made! Jim
