rem 1100 choke options

I have an older rem 1100 with the standard full choke, which makes skeet shooting very difficult. What is the best option to get a better choke. Should I get a new barrel with adustible choke, or get my barrel threaded to fit rem chokes? What's the best and/or cheapest option?

Having your barrel threaded and tubed would probably be cheaper. But the barrel would be pretty thin at the muzzle.
I had my 1100 tubed like this. It works alright, but it is very thin and easily bent or torn. I have put hungreds of rounds of buckshot, slugs, and target loads through mine without a problem. I tend to use the Modified tube the most but will switch to the Imprved Clinder for slugs when accuracy is important.
Talk to your gunsmith about this. See what he thinks.

The best option is to buy a new barrel with Rem chokes. Keep the old barrel for duck hunting or trap.

You might also consider having a poly choke installed on the old barrel. They look funny but work.
