Not entirely sure where to place this but..
I am curious to how some of ya'll store your reloading materials or ammunition. Considering the fact that we live in a world were you are at risk of burglary (sadly) I've been considering idea's on how to safely store and secure both my firearms and ammunition.
A safe is a clear and one of the safest course of action, but what other options are out there?
I've read about numerous methods, some say a simple foot locker, perhaps bolted to the floor, all the way to reinforced steel cabinets which are also bolted to the wall.
While such precautions will not prevent a determined criminal from accessing them, it does deter them, since the hassel may not outweigh the reward. The fact that I plan on having children some day is another consideration.
So how do you store your ammunition and reloading materials? Am I over thinking this and a simple lockable trunk should suffice? I'm a firm believer that if you are going to own firearms, you should take extreme care to try and keep it out of the hands of those you do not wish to have them. Ereing on the side of caution never hurt anybody in this case I believe.
I'd appreciate hearing any suggestions on this topic, I've even considered construction custom storage trunks of my own, that way I can tailor them to whatever dimensions I so desire. Perhaps reinforcing it with steel paneling or something.
