Reloading supply and ammunition storage, how do you secure your pile?

Not entirely sure where to place this but..

I am curious to how some of ya'll store your reloading materials or ammunition. Considering the fact that we live in a world were you are at risk of burglary (sadly) I've been considering idea's on how to safely store and secure both my firearms and ammunition.

A safe is a clear and one of the safest course of action, but what other options are out there?

I've read about numerous methods, some say a simple foot locker, perhaps bolted to the floor, all the way to reinforced steel cabinets which are also bolted to the wall.

While such precautions will not prevent a determined criminal from accessing them, it does deter them, since the hassel may not outweigh the reward. The fact that I plan on having children some day is another consideration.

So how do you store your ammunition and reloading materials? Am I over thinking this and a simple lockable trunk should suffice? I'm a firm believer that if you are going to own firearms, you should take extreme care to try and keep it out of the hands of those you do not wish to have them. Ereing on the side of caution never hurt anybody in this case I believe.

I'd appreciate hearing any suggestions on this topic, I've even considered construction custom storage trunks of my own, that way I can tailor them to whatever dimensions I so desire. Perhaps reinforcing it with steel paneling or something.

My ammo and reloading supplies take up a cabinet, a heavy duty shelving unit, and two large plastic tubs. Not fitting into one, two or even three safes. Since it is mostly in my garage along with a variety of power tools and pry bars they could easily break into locked trunks or cabinets. The garage is kept closed and locked and I work from home most days, armed.

Anyone trying to steal my stuff is likely to get a hernia for their trouble.

Steel contractors box is lockable and heavy steel (available from Home Depot). You can put a lot of ammunition or reloading supplies in a large one. I would rather keep any reloading supplies that are moisture sensitive out in the open in a conditioned space.

I keep ammunition in a number of places (closets etc.). A lot is in a steel cabinet but it's full now with mostly 22 ammo.

I'm not particularly worried about someone steeling my reloading gear or ammunition. Guns I keep locked up except for the ones I shoot a lot.
