Anybody have any info on reloading 8x50 austrian? I have some spritzer type bullets in .323 that I pulled from a 7.9mm round that I bought by accident. The round weighs 200 grains. I used IMR3031 with some rn leads that I poured that weigh 175 grains with 45 grains and it shot well. High of course like all of them do. What do you suggest as a starting point for the 200 grain jacketed bullet? I would appreciate any and all information.
Thanks

Have you checked your bore diameter? I thought the Austrian "8mm" was considerably wider than the "8mm" for Mausers. IIRC Graf & Sons sells special bullets and brass for this. Regular 8mm bullets may be too narrow to engage.

I micked it out at .323 thats the bore of the rifle and also the diameter of the bullets I pulled out of the ammo.

I was thinking 8x56. I'm brining salmon but if I have a chance tonight I'll dig around and see if I have load data for yours.
