Reloading Database, Shooting Logs & Community

Hey TFL!

A while back I was gauging interest in a centralized location for reloading data over on Reddit. There seemed to be some interest in it so a friend and I started working on a rough prototype. We didn't stop at reloading data though. We built in community features to discuss loads you have worked up, as well as a shooting log & a gun vault. Now I figured I'd come share it with the experts here. Afterall, this is the FIRST place I went when I first started reloading and all of your shared a whole heap of knowledge and expertise with me.

This is a ROUGH PROTOTYPE. For this release we just wanted to capture some of the basics. Before we dig in deeper to each feature we need your input. Things like, what kind of information do you track when shooting? Shot placement, groupings, velocity, temp, humidity, etc. etc.

Here is a rough feature breakdown.

Reload Bench

This is where you log all of your custom loads. When I work up a favorite hunting load for my Remington 788, this is where I put it. You can also view all shooting logs that use the loads you have developed. (your own shooting logs not public logs)

Future Plans for Reload Bench

Eventually you will be able to toggle if each load is public or private. When you set it to public it will display under the "Data" section and show up in search results so others can see your load and test/discuss it with you or other community members. There are examples of this currently in the Data section when you dig in and search for items.

Gun Vault

Here is where you will add your private collection. This is handy for when you use shooting logs. You can build shooting logs tied to certain rifles and loads.

Shooting Logs

Here you can log all the data from your range visits. I realize right now we aren't capturing all the information everyone wants. We tried to put the key info in for now. You can also click the nifty target button next to each shot and mark the placement. example

There's a lot of work to be done from both ends of the spectrum. Super simple stuff like deleting shooting logs or firearms, to showing shot groupings based on groups of shots. We plan on having a big'ole feature packed spot for all loaders to collaborate and log their shots & loads. At this point we're ready to show you what's on our minds and gather your feedback so we can build it out.

Data

This is where all the searchable data is. The end goal here is to display community data as well as published data. For the published data we're going to be reaching out to all vendors and get the OK for us to display their data. The key element here is on EACH entry of published data it will link to each vendors reloading data. Then at the top of the search results a HUGE disclaimer and message to remind users to always double check our "published" data with the latest data on the manufacture's website. As for the community side, this will display all community loads that people have turned "public". There you will see community loads as well as discussions on/about those loads along with community ratings and such. You will also be able to favorite those loads so you can "follow" them and see any recent comments, etc. The data in this section is just a huge dump from information we found online, it will most likely be wiped before we go live with real community data

REMINDER

This is essentially ALPHA software. Let us know any issues you find as well as any and all feedback you have for the site.

Donation buttons are up if you feel you want to contribute. The first chunk of donations will be going to turning this thing into a mobile app that syncs up. That's easier when logging your range visits than dragging out the laptop w/ a hotspot :P
