Reliability of Glock 21/30

Do the .45 Glocks suffer from light primer strike problems? Could it be the result of a design flaw(weak striker spring), or debris in the firing pin channel?

Can this occur w/ any Glock model? I have had no problems w/ light strikes in my G-23/19, but have heard of this problem before w/ the 21/30.

Any help would be appreciated, as I'm looking at buying a G21.

Thanks in advance...{long shot}

Longshot,

I've had a Glock 21 for over two years and I've never had light primer strikes with it. It's been a great handgun for me, digesting any brand of ammo as well as my reloads. If you like a large pistol handling a great caliber, go for it.

I haven't heard of light primer strikes with either of the guns you mentioned.

Nazman,

Thanks for the reply! Your words echo what I would expect from the G21. Just wanted to get some feedback, and see if this was a case of a few isolated incidents, or something to be concerned about.

Most of the info comes from posts over on Glocktalk.

I have 2 Glock 21's and a 30. Out of about 40,000 rounds between the 2 21's, maybe 3 light strikes. Turns out the primer anvil seating depth was messed up on the progressive. I have never had a failure with factory ammo.

longshot; I've had a Glock 21 since '95. I don't shoot a whole lot so maybe it's got 6,000 rounds thru it. Not ONE malfunction of any kind. I think that's pretty damn good. I'm not a "CRAZY" glock fan but I must admit this is one great pistol. As far as a dirty firing pin channel I think it's a good idea to routinely clean the channels in any semi-auto. Just take a can of Scubber with the little red tube and squirt some into the channel. Best, J. Parker

I have a Glock 21 & a Glock 30, never had a lite strike with either of them. I've never had one with my 9mm Glocks either...

HAve a friend who is a CCW instructor.He allso teaches advanced classes.He carries a 21 and has for years.I realy do not think that he would carry anything he couldn't depend on.Do you?
