Rejoice, and meet my new girlfriend "Betty" (inspired by Oleg's Betty).

There are several definitions of what an "American" means.

Mom, Apple Pie, M1A. :-)

I should have asked about price. I hope I didn't get ripped off.

$1450 for the Match with the medium heavy barrel, match sights. Good price?? I hope so!! Too late now!

Congrats, two blink. Hopefully you'll give her a run out here for our next Vegas shoot, set for next Sat/Sunday. If you and Ed come out on Sat afternoon, you are more than welcome to camp with us.

Different is trying to show me the M1A light as well. I am REALLY attached to my mousegun M4orgery, but I just may find a spare M1A Scout in my safe sometime soon....

That's technically not true. "Buyer's remorse" composes of what you purchased, and what you paid. If I love my M1A but paid $7000, I'll love it less when I found out someone else paid $1600 for it.

But yes, I do love it.

Welcome to the club. I paid about $1200 for my loaded rifle in '95, but I was supporting a local shop/range that treats me well.

I own other rifles, but the M1A is my baby.

Congratulations, twoblink! Very nice. Did you get the stainless barrel and walnut stock? If so, you did well for the match set up.

Yeppers, congrat!!! Seems a lot of us are popping down some big bucks for these this month.

Good luck and safe shooting:)

Parting with money (for me) is hard.

What is even worse is, I generally don't part with money unless I give it a good 6 months+ of research, that applies to anything I buy over $200, let alone something this $$$!!!

But because the M1A is one of the few items I've actually yet to hear an unsatisfied customer from, I figure I will just have to suck it up, and buy one.

No regrets right? So while I've shot quite a few M1A's before, I haven't shot MINE, and so while I seriously doubt I'll regret it, I have to say, until I rack it and pull the trigger, there will always be an ounce of uncertainty. Of course when I've often heard that shooting sub MOA with iron sights does something to relieve anxiety... :-)

I saw a poster once, with a guy with his M1A, and I think the caption said something like "The only thing standing between you and tyranny.." I loved the poster! This was a LONG time ago, so in my mind, I've always associated an M1A with "Tyranny Prevention". Which I'm sure it does very well..

Welcome to the clan big guy. I really don't think you will regret your purchase. If it isn't quite right for you, there are plenty of folks who can modify things for you.
