Patented by Eugene Reising in 1916-21, manufacture of this .22 target automatic pistol began in the New Haven factory of the Reising Arms Company in 1921. Reising moved his company to New Your in 1922, renameing it the Reising Manufacturing Corporation. Approximately 2,500 pistols had been made in Hartford and possibly another 1000 in New York, but sales were not encouraging and work stopped in 1924. The pistols carry the company name and address on the left side of the slide, minor differences bewtween the pistols made in the two factories reflected the improvements that were suggested during production.
