You guys have got to check this out this is the first I have heard of this if anyone has any other info please share so we can try to fight this before it gets up too much steam. As a side note if anyone can find the article on the actual shooting I would be interested in reading it to see what the actual details were ie. shots fired did the guy use the bayonet or what have ya  I mean for crying out loud how many people are shot everyday in California and one incident involving a not so politcally correct gun and they act like the world is coming to an end.

Dunno why she needs National Legislation. The California AWB is still in place. Clearly, the shooting she references couldn't have happened. After all, there's a Law.

Very good point Rich, and shootings in general are more common in California in general partly due to the fact of the population and diversity of the people living there. While cases like this happen all across the country there seems to be more cases in California so that just tells me bans or no bans that isnt the problem California faces. They to need reinstate capitol punishment and figure out a way to police the state better, because as it is now there is no detterent for the criminals they can just walk away with no worry of being caught and disappear in the crowd generally speaking.

Funny thing is they have more people on death row than Texas. They just never get around to executing them.

You ever notice people in congress seem to live to the most extreme of ages, and never die when we need them too? What I love is the spin on this. She has managed to brainwash the media to think that assault weapons were not produced between 94 and 04. That is what I can't stand... "The country is that much more unsafe because this ban was not renewed". I for one can testify that I bought a BRAND NEW ban-legal AR-15 that is no more or less deadly now than it was then.

If we want to tackle gun control legislation, how about we tackle media spin first?

w4klr, easy, subject the media to the hoops gun owners have to pass through.

Ban "assault media". All broadcasts would have to be approved by police chief of that city. Register microphones. $200 tax on all newspapers, books, magazines, televisions and radios.

A First Amendment NFA, when shot down in court, will make excellent precedent for a Second Amendment case and get the media on our side. :)
