Regent revolver from Firearms International

As part of the trade for that Stevens favorite, the guy threw in two junk revolvers. One is an H and R .32 with the cylinder missing. Action cycles nicely but it is hard to keep the pistol in battery without a cylinder.

The other is a Regent revolver from Firearms International. Pistol has a broken crane. I was always under the impression that these pistols were no account, but this one seems to be made pretty well. Pistol came with the original box (repaired with tape) and papers.

If anyone has a cylinder laying around for the H/R I'd pay at least 950.00 for it. I figure it has to be worth at least 1000.00 in shootable condition.

I would like to get this Regent repaired though. Went to Numrich for the part. No luck. Midway also no luck.

The crane is broken in such a way as to have to be joined through a soldering, braising, welding process. I can't do that myself and having it done would be too expensive.

Any ideas?
 
The H&R .32 cylinders pop up on eBay from time to time. I found one from my Iver that way.

Might be able t find a crane on eBay as well. If you can post a model number or some pictures I will be on the look out.

I spend way to much time search through eBay! I wish someone would pay me for it! It usually costs me money instead.

I like the Regent. Neat looking .22.
 
Yes...

I have a coupla other bicycle style revolvers so the H and R isn't much interest to me. Wouldn't spend much on a cylinder. Might find one at a gun show in FL. The ones that I can find on the eBay appear to be ejector style cylinders and this pistol appears not to be ejector style. Has a cylinder pin that does not appear to mate with an ejector cylinder. Anyone who knows different please straighten me out. Also pretty sure I need a six shot cylinder. The "The American" model was made only in 6 shot when the caliber was .32.

The crane and cylinder for the Regent looks a bit different from the one that is on the pistol. I'd give it a try but I don't want to order much of anything and have it sent here when I might be gone before it gets here.

This rifle is weathered like it was rode hard and put up wet.

Wish I could get ammunition for it. I'd definitely shoot it. Maybe when the shot is set up in FL, I'll look into a differnt caliber

Yes. I inherited my love of hand work from my father.

He has a shop now which is a little smaller than mine here in VA, but we are thinking we will add a separate shop in the back of the house.
 
The Regents retailed for $34.95 in 1970. F.I. also imported Stars, FN Mausers, and Sakos. The retail on a Star Model B was 89.95; an FN Mauser, $295; a Sako Finnbear $220.30. The Regent was described as a double action revolver at a reasonable price.
 
Yes.....

The documentation inside the box is in the way of a very brief catalog.

I believe the crane is made from white metal and cast. I would not be surprised to find that the frame is of the same metal.

The revolver is heavy and the action is nice and tight. I would not mind getting this piece shooting, but I am not going to spend a lot of money on it.
