Refurbishing Stripper Clips?

I picked up a bunch of stripper clips. The springs are all good. However some have some surface rust and some show a whitish discoloration/residue. I'd like to get them cleaned up and prevent any corrosion or similar issues. Suggestions anyone?

Scrub them

get a bucket/bowl of some sort and a can of wd-40, then scrub them up with an old toothbrush. I've had that residue on some too, I'm guessing it was from moisture being held in by the cloth bandoliers they were stored in for years. After I unloaded them all, scrubbed them and repacked them they worked much better, almost effortlessly.
