Is there safe and acceptable way to bring back new like look to stainless steel pistols and revolvers? I am not talking about deep scratches, just normal wear.
Get some Flitz and use it with a felt fob and a dremel tool. It will polish it pretty well. If you have acces to a smith, I am sure he could polish with his buffer pretty inexpensively.
Depends on the existing finish. If it's a "brushed" finish, you can clean up the surface with the finer grades (red or gray) of Scotchbrite pads, carefully used.
Dear Sir:
I had Remington cap&ball in bright finished stainless. It looked crappy so I broke it down and with fine glass beads blasted the whole thing - really looked nice.
Also we bead-blast all of our stainless 45 packages and clones - really looks nice!
I like what Harry does because that is what I do. I call it my "Satin Combat Finish." S&W tumbles their SS guns witrh tumblers full of rocks or pebbles and the new ones look bad to me.
