Hi... Ladies and Gentlemen,
I bought a new smith & wesson 340SC... scandium 12 ounce pocket rocket for regular carry. It replaces a 442 at 15 ounces.
The trigger was rough as a cob... painful to pull. I replaced the hammer spring with a 9 pounder... which is an improvment. And am pounding away with snap caps.. but nearly wore out my fingers on a six hour drive... and it became increasingly clear that the return spring is way outa whack. I have read somewhere that it is 18 pounds from the factory!!! :-(. I can guaran darn tee you that noone set any rapid fire records and double taps with today's smith factory triggers!
I just ordered a set of Wolff's return springs... 11# to 16#... and wonder if anyone has changed any out.. and which to start with?
Thanks in advance, folks.
Even the reduced hammer spring made a big difference. I know what a good trigger is like... my 442, my model 19 Dirty Harry junior... even a couple of Taurus.
Paul
