Reduce power hammer and rebound springs for 317.

I have a "J" frame 317 and I want to reduce the heavy double action pull. I was thinking about buying the Shooter Pack #17120 from Wolff's.

Will there be any problems with light strikes on the rimfires? Also, does anyone have instructions on how to do the change outs yourself?

Other options and suggestions on reducing the DA pull are welcomed.

Thanks

Strange as it may seem, rim fire ignition actually requires a harder blow than center fire, and lightening the mainspring can cause misfires, especially with the small light hammer of the J frame. Some reduction in the mainspring is possible, but test any change thoroughly, including cold weather tests, if the gun is to be used for other than plinking.

Get a copy of Jerry Kunhausen's book on S&W revolvers.
Read it at least twice when not near a gun.
Then proceed to knock yourself out.
