Redhawk Scope problem

I just got back from the Range with my Super Redhawk that I just mounted my Burris 2-6x30 scope on. Thing shot like a wet-dream :D , yet I never could get the pistol to group consistently in the same area. The groups seemed to "wonder" across the target. I thought the rings where tight enough on the base of the gun, but when I got home and used a proper screw driver I was able to tighten the screws almost another full rotation. Could that of been my problem or is the scope possibly moving around with every shot? Now I've got them as tight as they will get, but how tight should they be?

Also, I was shooting the .44 Specials really well and they would group pretty well (except the the zero moving around on its own), but with the .44 Mags I know that I was flinching when I'd light them off. I'm still pretty new to "Big Bore" handgun shooting and have never owned a pistol with a scope before, so any advise anyone could offer in learning to shoot them well will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

SRH wet dream LoL

Thanks now i got blue balls to fire my SRH 44 mag 9.5" I put hogue rubber grips on it and a 2x7 scout scope. I would sugget to tighten all the screws altenately, and pack a rang bage for ammo, targets, tools, cleans, safety equip ext.. Start with 44spec. to get good trigger practice and form before you bother with 44mag then move up to some light mags get comfortable then move up, june 2005 guns and ammo mag has some nice 44mag articles. the belt mountain's big game 300 grain .44mag give me wood just looking at them it also entails other super mag size 44mag and some custom sights.

happy shooting, and remember to tighten and love and care for a firearms like a child.

I was using the WWB .44 Mags and they don't actually kick much more than my .357 Sig, but I think it's just the tought of lighting off a magnum that gets me flinching a little. But the muzzle blast kicking up all sorts of crap (empty shell casings, etc) off the bench and gave me that big sh*t-eatin' grin of "I'm $700 poorer, and I have no clue how I'm going to eat for the rest of the month, but I love it!" :D
Okay, back to reality........................Do you have any recomendations for "light" .44 Magnum loads? I can't reload so my only options is factory ammo.

I never thought I'd say this about a pistol, but aside from my 686 O/U, this is without a doubt the most fun gun I've ever owned (it even beats my AR-15  )!

Beretta,
Two points become much more critical with heavy recoil pistols: flinching and consistent grip. Obviously, flinching will cause point of impact to vary with any gun but tendency to flinch typically increases in proportion to recoil. In addition, variations in grip which might not cause any impact change with a .22 LR pistol can cause substantial impact shift with heavy recoil. Think about it. The pistol recoils into your hand and if your hand position/pressure varies, the pistol is not recoiling consistently every time. This translates into point of impact shift.

Good shooting and be safe.
