Redhawk: panic or don't panic?

Ruger has pulled the Redhawk line from their online catalog.
Is it due to:
1) relocation of the manufacturing facility
2) current production concentrating on bottom feeders
3) the world really is coming to an end
4) none of the above

What say you?

I have a 454 Super and a 45 Redhawk, both sporting 7-1/2" barrels.

I shoot the SRH a bit better and have worked the trigger a touch lighter but the RH just feels better in my hand.

I seriously doubt Ruger will pull their flagship Magnum line. Yeah the Super RH is a good gun, I have one in 454 Casull. But the SRH is butt A$$ ugly.

I, like many, like the original RH better. It's the best .44 Mag ever made regarding utmost reliability n brute strength. Long live the RedHawk..

Wow. That has to be the stupidest thing I've seen in awhile... I was happy I got my blued one when they discontinued those ones.

Ruger is opening a new production center soon aren't they? We might get to see production of some of their models reintroduced once it opens.

Maybe there will be a new hawk, this on in 45 Colt without a restriction where the barrel screws into the frame and chambers that aren't generously oversized.

Maybe the gyrfalcon or merlin?

Ruger has a very long, well-witnessed history of pulling guns from their line... and returning them later. Some of them multiple times.

Until they issue some manner of a statement (as they recently did with the P-95 pistols) with regards to specific ending of production, I would never look at Ruger "not currently offering" any item as anything other than Ruger's business as usual.

The new plant will open up Red & Super Red production again.
In the meantime, just be patient.

I was curious about this as well. I called Ruger and asked about Redhawk production. The rep replied the Redhawks have stopped being produced. He advised Ruger will again start making Redhawks in February of 2014.

The rep advised to get you order in soon though.

Glad I already bought mine a few years ago. However, it sounds like production is only being halted for another 3 months. No big deal. There are plenty of NIB ones on dealer shelves. No panic required.

In July Fifer said the Super Red was moving along but the Red was way behind & they had a lotta catching up to do with the new plant.
Couple months back one of the two main distributors that contracts with Ruger for distributor specials was proposing a new Red version, which may or may not come about, but the point there is that the guns are just in hiatus pending a factory transition.
They are far from dead.

fear not, the RH will return in short order, and maybe they are bringing back the 357 and 41 mag RH, and i hope for a 454 and 480 RH.

I hope this will mean the 45 4" will show up then, I still havent even seen one much less had a chance to buy one. I love my 45 7 1/2 hunter and would love to add a short tube model. I also hope they get the cylinders drilled right this time......I will wait and see how the new product is working before I rush out and buy a new one though, how about one set up for 10mm & 40S&W with moon clips to compete against the S&W 610, they seem to sell well? I would be up for one of thoes as well.

I’m not the biggest fan of the big Ruger double action mags. There great guns no doubt just not to my liking.
But I cannot believe that Ruger would be so stupid to stop building one of the best and strongest mag caliber hand guns built.
If they are ending production it’s because of what everyone has suggested about the move or a new model or #3, end of the world.
