Redhawk Or Super Blackhawk

TFL,

I've been reading the forums for about a month, and I must say there is alot of good info out there. I have searchrg the forums and have not found a thread on my question so I decided to ask.

I have a Ruger: GP100, .357 Mag Blackhawk, .41 Mag Blackhawk and a .454 Super Redhawk. I have one missing: .44 Mag.

I like the Redhawk with a 7 1/2" bbl and I like the Super Blackhawk with the 10 1/2" bbl. I can't afford to get both, (and if I did I would also be buying another gun safe) :D

What do you all think? I have no intention of using it for concealled carry, and I want a Ruger .44 Mag for shooting, hunting, and woods carry.

If you could help me out it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

GW45

My buddy has a SRH in the trim you were interest in. It's a fun firearm and right now there is a $40 rebate on a new one. I am thinking of acquiring one in 9.5" trim in 454 while the rebate is still in effect.

Of the Super Blackhawks, I like the Hunter model. Another friend had 10.5" SBH in blue and it was the easiest .44 I ever shot. It was an older model so I think based on its feel had a "lawyerless" trigger.

I would lean towards the SBH.

FWIW!

I also have a stable of Rugers revolvers and I have really grown fond of the Red Hawk with a 5.5"bbl. For me it has become the ideal carry gun for my traipsing around the woods here in western Oregon. I also have 7.5" SRH which is a neat gun. But for dinking around the woods my choice is the aformentioned RH. Good shooting:)

Alot would depend on whether you want a single action or double action. If it were me I'd opt for the Redhawk in stainless with a 7.5 inch barrel. Nice looking gun.

thanks.

I think I will go with the Redhawk with the 7.5" bbl in stainless.

Probably will order a set of Letts Custom Grips in Silver Black to go on it.

I think the stock grips (rosewood?) actually are what set the pistol off (lookswise that is and not dischargewise) . New grips may help recoil controll and accuracy but I think the stock wood grips help make the looks of the pistol.

lett grips

Is where I got the grips for my 2 Blackhawks and my GP100.

The grips run from $25 to about $50 for the wood grips, the other material is more pricey. Quality is excellent.

Hope you find something you like.
