Redhawk Barrel Chop

Does anyone know of a competent, reputable gunsmith who can shorten a Redhawk barrel to four inches for less than the cost of the gun itself?

I checked the Bowen, Reeder, and Weigand websites; none of them offer that service except as part of a larger package. All I want is the barrel chopped, muzzle recrowned, and front sight replaced.

Try Jack Weigand. Contact him! Don't just look at his price sheet. And yes, One hundred and fifty bucks is a fair price for what you want done. Two twenty five actually, before he'll touch a job. I'm sure the gun needs a trigger job too.

Only reason no one may want to cut that barrel is the gun smith not being able to attach a new front sight and make it look nice.

HAVE 3 5.5" REDHAWKS

Is the extra length too much? (I know the difference, and I have two 4" GP's)
Milt Sparks makes excellent 5.5" Redhawk holsters.

Gunsmith services other than listed require conversation; try here too: www.americanpistol.com

WESHOOT2,

5.5" is a bit much for comfortable concealed carry, for me. Thanks for the tip; I'll call those gunsmiths and hear what they say.

I had my Redhawk cut to 4 inches by Mag-na-port. They can do other work on it - ports, trigger, sights, whatever. They are highly recommended by a lot of satisfied customers. I am very happy with the work and the price. You can see services and prices at http://www.magnaport.com/
