REDDOT how to zero?

Hi

I just want to ask if somebody can explain me how to zero my RedDot (vortex strikefire) in?!?!

The knobs for elevation/windage are marked with a arrow& the writing up and a arrow& the writing right.

For example: the Poi ist 10 o´clock high (while im aiming at the center).
How do i have to turn to get the poi centered? To "right and down" or the opposite way?
The manual says that by turning the knobs the poi move in that direction, will that mean that the dot will move the opposite way?

Sorry, but its my first RedDot/Scope....

The knobs are marked as to which direction to move the point of impact.

So to move the POI right and down, turn the knobs right and down.

Yes, i mounted it at the handguard from my ar15-
Its 100% cowitness but the impacts arent even at the paper at 50 yards!!!!!

Did you try firing a few rounds at paper from a bench with the sight on?

After you saw your point of impact compared to your point of aim did you twist those adjustment knobs?

After you twisted those knobs did you fire at the target again while keeping the same point of aim?

Did you see the new point of impact in relation to the adjustments you made to the sight? (It's good to remember if you adjusted "up" or "down" because some sights will adjust "up" and the bullet strike goes down. Pay attention to how many clicks you adjusted as well.)

After all that you will be able to say for your self how to adjust your sight.

It's called learning by doing.

If they aren't on the paper at 50 back up to 25.

You don't want to sight your dot in at 25 yards... It will put your impact way high at longer ranges.

If the irons are on, and you can cowitness the dot, it makes it real easy. Just look through the dot at the irons(like you were sighting with them), and dial the dot onto the top of the post. It will put you real close if not right on.

i cannot back up at 25yds.
its indoor with fixed targets and its forbidden to move forward-

i will wait until next sat, when im back at the range...

Regular optical scopes move the crosshairs to the POI.

Red dots move the POI to the dot. Therefore, if your POI is 1 inch low and 1 inch right, you'd move the POI up 1 inch and left 1 inch.

If the same senario were an optical scope, you'd move the crosshairs down 1 inch and right 1 inch.

I hope this helps.... Good Shootin' Shoes

If you look through your iron sights at the dot, try to adjust the dot so it is at the same point as your irons. That will at least get you on paper.

It's easy even if you can't co-witness. just bore sight the thing. Push the pins and remove the upper. Prop it up on sandbags, pillows, blankets, whatever. Look through the bore and point it at a pie plate or something about 25 yards away. Adjust the sight so that the red dot is in the middle of the plate and you'll be on paper next time you go to the range.
