Reddot for hunting - Need recommendation

I plan on hunting deer this fall with a Ruger Super Red Hawk 44 Mag. Which sight would you recommend? Gilmore Red Dot, ATN, Optima, or Trijcon?

I've got both a Leupold/Gilmore and a couple UltraDots mounted on S&W N frames. Full house loads in .45 colt haven't caused any problems.

Good Luck...

Some people knock my selection of red dots from tasco, but all my guns shoot very well.
Showed up a couple of 'kids' with a scoped 30-30 at the local 50 yd. rifle range.
They were shooting from a rest.
I was shooting offhand with a tasco red dot from a 8" smith 657 at 50 yards, and got 3 of 6 shots in a 3 inch birchwood/casey target spot in the middle of a paper plate.
They hit their target 2 out 6 times, but it was a much bigger regulation target...

I purchased a 4 MOA Ultradot from Jack Weigand - am very pleased with the product - outstanding customer service from Weigand Combat to boot.

I too use Tasco Red Dot scopes. I have used them for years and never had any problem with my Accudot or my Pro point 5, with adjustable dot size and 11 position rheostat. I am now tring out my brothers new PDP5, I think I better get one of these for myself.

Here's a look.

I don't know if tasco is still in business.
I've heard that they're no longer making scopes.
I hope they still make red dots.

Well here is your answer.
Tasco Worldwide was recently forced to go out of business and liquidate the company. During this process Bushnell purchased the "Tasco" brand name and various trade marks and trade names.

For more information check the web site below.

I think I've must have used all the major brand red-dots made. Of the ones you mentioned the Leupold/Gilmore and UltraDot hold up well under hard use and are easy to zero in. The Optima is great when small size is a concern, but alas it is (was) also made by Tasco. Another very accurate red-dot is the Holosight by Bushnell.

For hunting I think a 3-4 MOA dot is best, IMHO.
