I know these are sold...the gun is set up for an interchangable front sight. In fact, I had one in my hand at the gun store about 5 years ago and put it back.

Where can I find/order one? HELP

Hi John. I ordered a set from one of the ranges/gunshops I frequent. I would recommend starting at the Ruger website on this page: http://www.ruger-firearms.com/accessories.html . You can at least get a part number and order a catalog if you want.

I did not see any at the most recent gunshow, but I imagine anyone who could order a Ruger revolver can order accessories. There are places in the net to order from I am sure. The page at CheaperThanDirt: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ctd/...uger&mscssid=V6HXJARRHWPQ9PAQLHXBXVJ30RPX12U5 ; is sold out. You might want to call them, or try this sight: http://www.millettsights.com/series13.htm .

As for installing them, I guess I will cross that bridge when I get there!! Good luck!

Take Care,
Rhyno

Edited a link

I ordered mine straight from the Ruger company. When it came in the mail, I was really suprised, all it is was the normal front sight with red painted in place where the insert would be.

What the heck, it works.

I think painted, if well done, would be better than the Smith type insert. The insert doesn't go all the way to the top so different lighting conditions will change the point of impact vertically. Sometimes you use the top of the red and sometimes you use the top of the sight. Can't see the red in some lighting conditions.

WAIT!

Highly recommend Millett orange-ramp front blade; WAY brighter than Ruger blade.

Under $20; Brownells, worth EVERY cent.

Whiskey, try Brownell's number 601-505-253 for the orange Millet.

I just put a Ruger RFS on my GP. It has red plastic molded into a dovetail on a steel sight. It's similar to the S&W, but the red goes all the way to the top of the sight ramp. Can't compare to the Millet, tho, haven't seen one.

Good shootin!

The Millet is far supeior to anything that I've used i n a red or orange front sight. It really stands out on a black sillouette target.
