Red Lettering on Model 29-3

I was given a Model 29-3, 6" 44 Magnum a year ago. The logo, Manufacturer stamps, the "Smith & Wesson" all have a reddish writing. I haven't seen that in any of the pictures I've been finding in forums, or on websites. Is there any significance to this "red lettering"... If so does it affect the value?

Thanks!

I have seen a lot of guns with the roll marks filled with white or gold.
Red seems unusual.
It ought to come out with one or another solvent that will not hurt the blue.

I'm assuming by 'reddish' we aren't talking about rust.

It was most likely just a custom touch up by someone who owned the gun before.

The Glock guys are always using white to fill in the lettering to give their pistols some pnash.

Get after it with a little bore solvent and a Q-Tip. It will come right off.
