red hawk rifles, are they worth it?

Was thinking about ordering a "custom" red hawk rifle in the .308 caliber
just wanted to see what the community thought

That is the one I'm looking at, I plan on putting a Nikon MONARCH 4-16x42 with tally base rings along with the badger tactical knob, and the Timmy trigger. I'm considering leaving the barrel at 26 inches I'm not concerned about weight to much. Also whats your thoughts on the "tubbs firing pin system", is it worth the extra money, I've heard mixed reviews on it. Not interested in a muzzle brake, its pointless with the .308, all it will really do is make it quicker for follow up shots (which I don't need) and increase noise obnoxiously for people around me.

Considering the price its not a bad deal, and I've heard some testimonials and haven't heard anything bad yet.

Another concern I have is with the medium rings I'm afraid I'll need to strain to look through the scope properly. Would a A5 2094 series Bell and Carlson Medalist stock be ridiculous for hunting? This gun wont be just for hunting I do enjoy excursions to the range and testing myself.

Redhawk makes fine rifles, the use the Rem. 700 action. I don't use Nikon scopes but some people like them. What makes you thinks this rifle might need the Tubbs system shot through it? It's probably unecessary to assume you'll be needing that, HOWEVER if your just generalizing then I have to say for those that use the Tubbs system seem to have decent reviews. I sometimes use JB Borepaste in some of my cantankerous barrels when they don't want to give up the copper fouling, but I use it sparingly, almost just waving the bottle over my barrel...
I dig Vortex and Leupold scopes, however if you want a good deal Midway sa has the Simmons Whitetail classic in the 6-20x50, I have one mounted on my daughters 25-06, and I'm really suprised at the quality in this scope for just $116.00 delivered.

My buddy has a .338 RUM worked over by Redhawk Rifles it wasn't a full blown custom. He was able to put three shots under 1" at 300 yards. He has been very satisfied with the M700 he sent them.

The only experience I had with Redhawk he refused to bed my rifle to a B&C medalist because it had an aluminum bedding block and he said it "didn't need it." Needless to say I didn't buy the stock from him nor am I inclined to use him in the future for any work on my of my existing rifles. However I'm pretty confident they'll build you a good rifle.

What do you mean by worked over, I have a few other rifles I'm not to satisfied with what can he do?

I don't know exactly what was done, I just know he said that he sent it to Redhawk to accurize and put an HS Precision stock on it. Before he sent it there it shot around 4" at 300. He said it was money well spent and he'd do it again.
