red-dot sights for AR15 suggestions

I'm looking for a reasonably inexpensive option for
red-dot sights. The two that seem most reasonable
are the tasco propoint and the oko sight. I think
BSA also makes one, but I've heard very little about
it. Does anyone have any experience with any of these?
Thanks...

I haven't purchased a new red-dot sight in some time, so I'm afraid I won't be much help in answering the specific question at hand, however, I did want to ask if you've considered something like a Trijicon Reflex sight. Certainly they're a bit more expensive, but they do effectively the same thing as a red-dot sight, without the need for batteries and all the electronics.

ok3wire: Yeah, I'm considering it as well, but would
like to spend less if possible. If these others aren't
acceptable, then I'll up the ante, so to speak.

Most are cheap chinese copies of the Aimpoint

the dots tend to wash out on the Simmons/BSA red dots

for 35 bucks i got one for the paintball rifle from CTD

a big plus is the knob goes up to 11!

I bought a used BSA 30mm red dot for $25. Never considered it a serious purchase, just wanted it for fun. I had a chance to shoot my Bushmaster last week with the red dot mounted on the carry handle. At 100 yards, from the bench, I was able to consistently keep all shots in the black, with most at least in the 8 ring. It only took about 8 shots to get it dialed in. The red dot is reasonably bright, even on a very sunny day. I don't know how long it will last and don't care. New, I think they are no more than $40. So if you just want to have a little fun and see what red dots are all about, go for it.

Howard,
http://www.midwayusa.com has a 42MM BSA and a Simmons cheap. I Saw a $70 50MM (I think) when picking up my VMatch at http://www.impactguns.com in Ogden, Utah.
For the time being I very threw a 30MM BSA on my VMatch until i can figure out what the heck I want
Way too many different opinions on what a VMatch needs in optics.

looks sorta silly to me.

I use the Tasco PDP5SP on my Armalite for shooting plates.
It has 4 different size dots, you just dial in the size you want. Accurate, dependable, and under 100 bucks from Natchez where I bought mine. I have it on an ARMS #5 base which gives me the proper eye alignment.

Of the less expensive models, I vote for the PDP5. I have one that has seen thousands of rounds on an IPSC .45, and it is still going strong, although I have retired it to the .22.

I have a Tasco PDP3 that I have used on Ruger Super Redhawk for about 6 years and was recently put on my Bushy AR15 Flat top. I have fired about 1,000 rounds in this Bushy in past 4-5 months and the scope has worked very well. With this scope I can get about 2" group at 100 yards all day and have even gotten some groups reaching 1 1/2" (shooting from bench). You can get this scope for about $65 and they are worth it. Still, I'm looking to get a Aimpoint for my Bushy soon. It will cost about 4 times the price of my Tasco but I don't think it will work 4 times better.

i too have a few of the pdp3's the most i paid for one was $70 and that incl s&h in the box.
i usually find them at gun shows or on line. also like the burris speed dot but they run $170.

Is 'PDP' the initials for the tasco propoint?
What are the best places online to get them?
Finally what is the difference between the '5'
model and the '3' model? Thanks...
